Gina Aliotti’s Summer Squat Challenge

As my Morning Squat Challenge continues to stone, I will be sharing with you a few of my preferred squat variations during the challenge or in your daily workouts.


Bulgarian Split Squat: Stand up straight with your arms crossed at your chest (or hold dumbbells down at your sides, when weights are needed ). Place the top of your foot on a bench behind you. Drop down to some lunge when keeping your chest up and shoulders back. Make sure you lower down instead of leaning forward. Pause at the bottom of the lunge use your heel. Repeat the motion before switching to the other hand.

This is one of my favorites to really hit the lower glutes and hamstrings!

G-Tip: Be sure your knee does not go on your toe as you drop down toward the ground.  This is a direct movement. As you rise to the top, keep a slight bend in your knee so it never locks on top.
